Welcome to Earls Colne Parish Council

Earls Colne Parish Council (ECPC) may have up to 11 Parish Councillors to represent the Village of Earls Colne.

Each Parish Councillor is a volunteer who gives their own time to contribute to the work of the ECPC.

The ECPC also employs a Parish Clerk and a number of Community Support workers known as “The Community Team”

Earls Colne Parish Council key aims are to:

  • Protect, preserve, improve and future proof Earls Colne , its community, appearance, and environment for the benefit of todays and future residents.
  • Ensure the historical elements of Earls Colne are sympathetically preserved and safeguarded but with consideration to embracing 21st century advancements.
  • Provide a strong voice and support on behalf of Earls Colnes residents and businesses.
  • Be fully competent in all appropriate areas in order to provide sound governance and financial management.
  • Work with organisations to ensure services and future development are responsive to village needs.
  • Increase residents’ involvement through being open, transparent and accountable.

In order to maintain, improve and progress positive action ECPC on behalf of the Village receive an annual sum of money  “precept” from Braintree District Council. ECPC also apply for other funding, such as grants and awards to further support the needs of the Village .
